Half Marathon Run

Course Description

The Half Marathon Run is a looped course, starting at the Confederation Centre on Grafton Street and finishing at the corner of University Avenue and Grafton Street. The participants will pass through, Victoria Park following the Park Road along Charlottetown Harbour. After leaving Victoria Park, participants continue onto Queen Elizabeth Drive and follow the shore of the North River through the distinguished Charlottetown neighbourhood of Brighton. The route continues through residential neighbourhoods until meeting up to Belvedere Avenue. The route then takes runners along Belvedere Avenue and up to the University of Prince Edward Island where participants will turn on to the Confederation Trail and follow it to Royalty Junction Road where they will turn right to start making their way back to the finish line. Participants will run along Brackley Point Road and pass by the Charlottetown Airport before turning to the Sherwood Road to take on first of three hills. The route then makes a final left turn on to the Malpeque Road leaving a straight path to the finish and two more hills before reaching the finish line at Historic Province House.

We are excited to be preparing for the 2021 Prince Edward Island Marathon Weekend slated for October 15-17. We hope to open registration soon with an overview of the weekend schedule and will be offering special Early Bird discounts. We will be working with the Chief Public Health Office to ensure that all PEI COVID-19 guidelines are adhered to. As always, our number one priority will be the safety of everyone involved in the event.
