Dairy Farmers of Canada Half Marathon Run

PEI Marathon is proud to partner with the Canadian Mental Health Association – PEI Division to help bring awareness to and raise money for mental health on PEI. Starting today and continuing through to October 18th we encourage everyone to help us raise funds for the Canadian Mental Health Association, PEI Division. 

After you register with either Race Roster or Running Room, be sure to enroll in their great fundraising campaign to raise money for the Canadian Mental Health Association – PEI (CMHA-PEI). You could have your registration refunded if you reach the fundraising goal for your race category. The fund raising goal for the Half Marathon run is $300. All money raised stays on PEI and helps to fund CMHA – PEI programs.

Course Description

The Half Marathon Run is a looped course, starting at the Confederation Centre on Grafton Street and finishing at the corner of University Avenue and Grafton Street. The participants will pass through, Victoria Park following the Park Road along Charlottetown Harbour. After leaving Victoria Park, participants continue onto Queen Elizabeth Drive and follow the shore of the North River through the distinguished Charlottetown neighbourhood of Brighton. The route continues through residential neighbourhoods until meeting up to Belvedere Avenue. The route then takes runners along Belvedere Avenue and up to the University of Prince Edward Island where participants will turn on to the Confederation Trail and follow it to Royalty Junction Road where they will turn right to start making their way back to the finish line. Participants will run along Brackley Point Road and pass by the Charlottetown Airport before turning to the Sherwood Road to take on first of three hills. The route then makes a final left turn on to the Malpeque Road leaving a straight path to the finish and two more hills before reaching the finish line at Historic Province House.
