2020 Marathon Cancelled

The 2020 Prince Edward Island Marathon weekend slated for October 16-18, 2020 has been officially cancelled due to the uncertainty surrounding the COVID pandemic and health and safety concerns for  our runners and walkers, spectators, volunteers, partners and sponsors.

It was not a decision the Board and Management took lightly. We thank the CPHO for their guidance in working through our operational plan but in the end, determined the increased protocols and uncertainty were too risky given the current climate.

All registered participants will be contacted within the next few weeks and will have the option for a refund or to defer their registration to the 2021 race with no extra costs. Each participant who defers will also be given a small token of our appreciation race weekend.

While this decision weighs heavily on us, the health and well-being of our loyal community is of utmost importance to us and we thank you for your continued support and understanding.

Board and Management of the Prince Edward Island Marathon

We will be working with the Chief Public Health Office to ensure that all PEI COVID-19 guidelines are adhered to.
